Launch of “Number One, Wisma Putra”
KUALA LUMPUR, 3 November: The much awaited “Number One, Wisma Putra” book was launched earlier today.
The book, a compilation of 31 short stories by both former and current Malaysian ambassadors, was published by Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this year. Written in a light manner, it gives the public an idea of what the diplomatic life is all about.
The launch, held at IDFR’s Auditorium, was officiated by The Honourable Foreign Minister, Dato’ Seri Syed Hamid Albar, witnessed by scores of local and foreign diplomatic personalities and members of the media.
In his speech, Dato’ Seri Syed Hamid Albar said that the book is unparalleled to any other in more ways than one as it showcases some of Malaysia’s finest men and women in situations that display their strength, courage, and most important, their human side, all in the line of duty.
