GET TOGETHER WITH CEOs and OFFICIALS OF MALAYSIAN COMPANIES IN GHANA

On the  27 May 2009, PYT Dato' High Commissioner hosted dinner at the African Regent Hotel for the CEOs of  Malaysian companies operating in Ghana. The occassion was meant to meet all officials of the companies on informal basis and across the table to discuss any important issues and exchange views regarding business and economic situation in Ghana as well as in Malaysia. Officials from Boustead Heavy Industries Corp.SdnBhd (formerly PSC Tema Shipyard); TV3; and International Commercial Bank were present that evening. 
Those in attendance express appreciation for the invitation and similarly the companies will take turn to host the get-together functions in the coming days/months ahead.

GHANA CELEBRATED AFRICA UNION DAY 25 MAY 2009

PYT Dato' High Commissioner represented Malaysia at the flag raising ceremony of the Africa Union Day in the early morning of  25 April 2009. The  event was  held at the State House, Accra. On that special day, Ghana joined other African countries to commemorate the historic day which is geared towards the fostering of an African state with a common goal and vision in eradicating poverty and hunger among the peoples all across the African continent.
The flag was co-hoisted by the Hon. Minister of  Foreign Affairs representing Ghana while the Dean of the |Dilomatic Corp cum the Dean of African Diplomatic Corp, the Ambassador of Togo represented the other African Union countries in Ghana. All HOMs from African countries were in attendance together with several  High Commisisoners/Ambassadors  of  the USA;China, South Korea; South Africa; Zimbabwe, Australia; Canada, Brazil, Germany, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria; India, the Netherlands, Spain and Denmark.

10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ENSTOOLMENT OF THE KING OF ASHANTI,26 APRIL 2009

PYT High Commissioner was invited by the Palace of Ashanti Kingdom to the celebration of  the 10th Anniversary of the Enstoolment of King Osei Tutu II as the King of the Ashanti  Region from  25-26 April 2009. The celebration was held in the Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti region.Other Heads of Missions, to name the few, who attended the event were the High Commisioners of India, Australia,Canada,Britain,South Africa and Ambassadors from the USA,Algeria, Palestine, Italy, Zimbabwe, China, South Korea, Sierra Leone,Spain,Togo, Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso.  
A Grand Durbar at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi was the climax of the celebration and it turned tobe a great cultural feast attended by thousands of local and foreign visitors as well as leaders from some African countries and other parts of the world. Visitors from Spain,South Africa,neighbouring countries like Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Togo came to witness the event at the stadium.
The former Prime Minister of Spain Jose maria Anzar, together with former Presidents: of Ghana J.J. Rawlings, Botswana Fetus Mogae; Sierra Leone Ahmed Tejan Kabbah; and Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo were accorded the highest Award by the Ashanti King in honour of their valuable contributions to their respective nations in transferring power to their elected successors peacefully and  smoothly. 
It was truly a colourful and memorable occassion for PYT High Commisioner who had travelled almost 7 hrs from Accra to Kumasi.

PYT HIGH COMMISSIONER JOINED GHANAIANS AT THE 52nd ANNIVERSARY OF GHANA'S INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION,06 MARCH 2009

Ghanaians celebrated  the 52nd anniversary of their country's independence on 6 March 2009 with festivities which began in the early morning and throughout the day. It was  the first celebration headed by the newly elected President  John Evans Atta Mills who won the December 2008 election run-off. Ghana was the first  sub-Sahara country to gain independence from its colonial master, the British by its  founding father Kwame Nkrumah. A national parade by Ghana Armed Forces, Police,Uniformed services and school children was held at the Independence Square followed by cultural events.
             PYT High Commissioner represented Malaysia during the auspicious event.

Individual who wishes to refer to any books, magazines, bulletins or relevant reading materials on Malaysia may do so at our library. Kindly contact the reception for permission. Documents and reading materials at the library are intended for reading purposes and not to be taken away. A photostat copy can be arranged at nominal fee.

FAKE DOCUMENTS
Visa applicants found submitting fake documents together with their application forms will be rejected and will be reported to the relevant Ghanaian authorities for necessary actions.

Consular/Visa Service
The Public is informed that with effect from 2nd January 2009 the Consular/Visa Section is opened to the public as follows:- Monday, Wednesday, Friday Submission:- 8.30 am - 11.00am Collection:- 2.30 pm - 4.00 pm Please ensure that all details in the application forms are duly completed. Incomplete forms may not be processed on the some day of application or may be totally rejected.

Visa Application by Individual
Please be informed that the High Commission will not accept application for entry visa submitted through any LOCAL AGENTS in Ghana. However, AGENTS applying entry visa on behalf of the students must show the Letter of Accreditation by the specific University/Higher Institution of learning in Malaysia and copy of calling visa from the Malaysian Immigration for attention and consideration by the Consular Officer. The High Commission deserves the right to reject applications which are not in compliance with any of the stipulated conditions that are displayed to the public on the notice board. Please observe the following regulation when applying for Visa at the High Commission. You are required to provide photocopies of the following when applying for visa:- i. Details on purpose of visit (invitation letter by the party/parties in Malaysia to applicant and a copy to be faxed seperately to the High Commission of Malaysia; ii. Valid international passport for at list six months from the date of expiry; iii. Valid yellow fever vaccination card (Inoculation; iv. Two passport sized photographs; v. Confirmed return air ticket; vi. Latest Financial Statement within three month period prior application; vii. Company Registration Certificate; and viii.Introductory letter from your Company. Application forms are provided at no fees. Please take note that you are permitted to stay in Malaysia for two weeks only. An amount of USD2000 should be sufficient for the duration of this stay in Malaysia. Any amount higher than the above should be referred to the Ghana Local Authority before traveling. VISA FEES Single Entry i. Ghana citizen - GHC 6 ii. Non Ghana citizen - GHC 8.5 iii. Asian citizen - GHC 11 Multiple Entry i. Ghana citizen - GHC 12 ii. Non Ghana citizen - GHC 17 iii.
