Arrival of H.E Ilango Karuppannan, Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to Lebanon
2010-01-19

H.E Ilango Karuppannan, the Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to Lebanon arrived in Beirut on 17 January 2010 to assume his duties. Other than the Embassy's staff, H.E Ilango Karuppannan was received by a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon; Datuk Omar Jundi, the Malaysian Honorary Consul-General in Saida; Colonel Hashim Aman Shah, Commander of MALBATT (Malaysian Battalion under UNIFIL); Lt. Col Romainor Mohamad, Commander of MALCON East (Malaysian Contingent under UNIFIL) as well as several Malaysian UNIFIL troops.

Raya Celebration in Beirut
2009-09-21

Malaysians residing in Lebanon celebrated Hari Raya in an event organised by the Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut on 21 September 2009 at the Embassy. Around 90 Malaysians from all races comprising professionals, students and peacekeepers thronged to the Embassy for that purpose. 'Friends of Malaysia', including members of MTCP Alumni (Lebanese Chapter) also did not miss the chance to taste Malaysian Raya cuisines and be part of the celebration.

Arrival of Malaysian Female Troops

A total of 10 Malaysian female troops arrived on 15 September 2009 to replace the same number of female troops who had completed their 4 1/2-month stint serving as peacekeepers in southern Lebanon.

Kedutaan telah menganjurkan majlis ramah mesra bersama rakyat Malaysia pada 31 Disember 2008 bertempat di pejabat Kedutaan Besar Malaysia, Beirut.  Majlis tersebut telah berjaya menghimpunkan rakyat Malaysia yang sedang bermastautin di Lebanon, termasuk para pelajar dan tentera pengaman Malaysia yang berkhidmat di bawah UNIFIL.

Travel Advisory
As the situation in Beirut has improved, the Embassy has lifted its travel warning for visitors from Malaysia to come to Lebanon. Nevertheless, all Malaysian visitors are still advised to report to the Embassy upon arrival and before departure.
