HARI RAYA AILDIFITRI PRAYERS AND OPEN HOUSE

The
celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri which falls on Sunday, 20 September 2009
was celebrated with joyous mood despite being far from home.
The
arrival of Shawal was greeted with Aidilfitri takbir and prayers which was held
at the Chancery. The Aidilfitri prayers were attended by Malaysians residing in
Berlin as well as members of the Brunei
Embassy in Berlin.
After the prayers, guests were treated to a small reception hosted by the
members of the Malaysian Embassy.
In
the afternoon the guests and invitees were invited to celebrate Hari Raya at
the open house hosted by Datuk Zakaria Sulong and Datin Hazizah Ahmad at Rumah
Malaysia. Malaysians from all over Germany
including those as far as Hannover, Dresden and Wolfsburg were treated to
traditional Hari Raya delicacies such as rendang, lemang, nasi impit and others.
More than 200 Malaysians from all walks of life joined together in celebrating Hari
Raya reflecting the spirit of “1Malaysia”.
FLAG RAISING CEREMONY ON THE OCCASION OF THE 52ND MERDEKA DAY CELEBRATION

the occasion of the celebration of the 52nd Merdeka Day Celebration,
the Embassy of Malaysia in Berlin, Federal
Republic of Germany organised a simple flag raising ceremony attended by
members of the Malaysian Embassy as well as Malaysians residing in Berlin.
COLOURS OF MALAYSIA EVENING WITH DR. SYEIKH MUSZAPHAR SHUKOR AL MASRIE, ANGKASAWAN NEGARA AT THE 25TH DAYS OF ASTRONAUTICS NEUBRANDENBURG

On
Friday, 11 September 2009 the organisers of the 25th Days of
Astronautics Neubrandenburg organised a “Colours of Malaysia Evening’” to
honour Malaysia’s
achievement in space as well as in honour of Dr. Syeikh Muszaphar Al Masrie’s
participation at the 25th Days of Astronautics Neubrandenburg. H.E.
Datuk Zakaria Sulung, Ambassador of
Malaysia to the Federal Republic of Germany and Datin Hazizah Ahmad as well as
members of the Embassy were invited to celebrate the special evening.
On the occasion of Merdeka
month, the Embassy has organised a Merdeka Family Day on Sunday, 2 August 2009 as
one of its activities to celebrate 52nd Anniversary of Malaysia’s
National Day. This programme is part of the activities of the Embassy under
“Program Mendamping Rakyat Malaysia”.
Malaysia at the Landesgartenschau Oranienburg 2009

The Embassy of Malaysia with the cooperation of Federal
Agricultural Marketing Agency (FAMA) participated at the Landesgartenschau
Oranienburg 2009 during the “Exotic Fruits” theme week from 7 July to 12 July
2009 at the exotic fruit market in the harbour area of the Landesgartenschau
Oranienburg. The visitors were invited to discover “Malaysia’s Best”,
tropical fruit from Malaysia,
some of which are little known in Germany, such as nangka or jackfruit. Other fruits on
display were seedless watermelon, dragon fruit, mangosteen, papaya, durian,
rambutan, mangoes and guava which were for the visitors to sample.
The ALL NATIONS FESTIVAL 2009 in Berlin

On 4 July
2008, the ALL NATIONS FESTIVAL was held for the ninth time in Berlin and it offered
the opportunity for 24 participating Embassies not only to show their premises,
but to also present their culture, economy and tourism potentials.
