H.E. Ambassador Raja Nazrin Aznam called on Deputy O’Donoghue at the
latter’s office in Leinster House, Dublin.The Ambassador met the Ceann Comhairle earlier on 20 January 2009
at the 90th anniversary of the sitting of both Houses of the Irish Parliament,
during which he handed a copy of the special resolution by the Parliament of
Malaysia on Gaza.During the call, the
Ambassador and the Ceann Comhairle updated
each other on Malaysia’s and Ireland’s respective position concerning the
situation in Gaza.The two men then
discussed the state of the global economy and its impact on Malaysia and
Ireland.The Ambassador also informed
the Ceann Comhairle about the
Malaysian Parliament Friendship Group for Europe.

organised by the Penang Medical College Students Association – Royal College of
Surgeons Ireland (PMCSA – RCSI) to celebrate Chinese New Year
PMCSA-RCSI organised a Chinese New Year celebration
lunch at Jimmy Chung’s Chinese Restaurant, Dublin which was attended by more
than 90 Malaysians students.H.E. Ambassador
Raja Nazrin Aznam, Dr. Hafriza Burhanudeen, officers and staff of the Embassy
as well as their family attended the event.In his speech, the Ambassador congratulated PMCSA-RCSI for organising
the Chinese New Year celebration.The
Ambassador also called on all Malaysians in Ireland to pool their strength and
work together to ride out the current global economic uncertainties.Officers and staff of the Embassy contributed
cash towards the organising of the event, which was handed by the Ambassador to
Mehul Kumar, President of PMCSA-RCSI.
