Malaysia and Seychelles signed the Protocol amending the Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to taxes on income on 22 December 2009 in Victoria, Seychelles.

The Protocol was signed by Mr. Mohamad Nizan Mohamad, Charge d'Affaires/Minister of the Malaysian Embassy in Harare on behalf of the Government of Malaysia. On behalf of the Seychelles Government, the Protocol was signed by Mr. Rupert Simeon, Director General of Policy and Strategy, Ministry of Finance of Seychelles.

Malaysian living/residing in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Mauritius, Seychelles and Comoros are encouraged to register with Embassy of Malaysia in Harare. This is a requirement and it is clearly stated in the Malaysian International Passport that "Malaysian who fail to register would face the risk of having their nationality revoked under Article 25(2) of the Federal Constitution".

Registering yourself would enable the Malaysian mission to get in touch with you during emergencies (natural disaster or any circumstances, if any) or to inform on activities such as the Merdeka and Agong's Celebration or any other special events.

Registration can be done via letter or email. All completed form can be forwarded to the Embassy via post, fax or email to malharare@kln.gov.my.

For short visit (less than three months), it would be sufficient to register by telephone or email. The required information is as follows:

    a) Name

    b) Passport Number

    c) Current adress in the country

    d) Date of arrival

    e) Expected date of departure
