On Wednesday, 27 May 2009, HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN ABD SAMAD, High Commissioner of Malaysia, held a ‘Malaysia Incorporated’ Meeting with few Malaysian companies based in Islamabad-Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi. Some of the prominent companies were PETRONAS, TNB Liberty Power, IJM, Malaysian Palm Oil Board Karachi and Bina Puri were present in the meeting. The Vice Consul (MATRADE) from Consulate General of Malaysia, Chennai was also present in the meeting.

SUSPENSION OF ISSUANCE OF 'ON-ARRIVAL' VISA TO PAKISTANI CITIZENS
The Government of Malaysia has decided to suspend the issuance of 'on-arrival' visa to Pakistani citizens with effect from 1st of August 2008. All Pakistani citizens who wish to visit Malaysia for any purposes must get visa from: i) The High Commission of Malaysia, Islamabad (Application through appointed drop box agencies or through Honorary Consulate of Malaysia in Lahore. ii) The Consulate General of Malaysia, Karachi.

TRAVEL ADVISORY / NASIHAT PERJALANAN
English Version Malaysian citizens who plan to travel abroad should take extra precautionary measures. Most importantly, they must be alert and fully aware of all the items in their baggage. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been notified that there are a number of international criminal syndicates who are targeting Malaysians to be involved in their criminal activities. Those wishing to take up job offers overseas should first verify the status and the offer of the employer. Versi Bahasa Melayu Warganegara Malaysia yang ingin ke luar negara harus mengambil langkah berjaga-jaga. Paling utama, mereka mesti menyedari dan mengetahui kesemua kandungan bagasi mereka. Kementerian Luar Negeri telah dimaklumkan bahawa terdapat sebilangan sindiket jenayah antarabangsa yang mensasarkan rakyat Malaysia untuk terlibat dalam kegiatan jenayah mereka. Sesiapa yang ingin bekerja di luar negara dinasihati untuk memastikan terlebih dahulu kesahihan status majikan dan peluang kerja yang ditawarkan.

Announcement of Humanitarian Assistance to the victims of Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar through Tabung Bencana Kementerian Luar Negeri To ease the burden of the victims of Tropical Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had activated the “Tabung Bencana Kementerian Luar Negeri” to enable the Malaysian public to channel monetary contribution to the disaster victims in Myanmar.
