Malaysia's 12th General Election

His Majesty the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia
The ruling Government, Barisan Nasional (BN) won 140 of the 222 Parliamentary seats (63% majority) in the 12th General Election held on 8 March 2008. The Honourable Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was re-elected as Prime Minister for a second term on 10 March 2008.
The election were carried out in an environmental that was free, fair and transparent without any untoward incidents. It clearly shows that Malaysia has a mature democracy. With the strong majority, Malaysia will continue to offer business-friendly policies and adopt free market economy with powerful attractions for international investors.
