Dato’ Adnan Haji Othman, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Cambodia on Sunday, 17 February 2008 attended a scholarship for Cambodian Muslim students handover ceremony.  The ceremony was organized by the Cambodian Muslim Student Association (CAMSA) and was held in the Multi-Purpose Hall in the office of the Mufti of Cambodia at Kilometer 9 Phnom Penh.

 

 

 

 

Also present at the ceremony were Sahibus Samahah Kamaruddin Yusoff, Mufti of Cambodia, H.E. Zakarrya Adam, Secretary of State, Ministry of Cult & Religions Affairs, H.E. Sos Mousine, Under Secretary of State, Ministry of Rural Development and President of CAMSA and Ustaz Yaakub Wan Harun, Chairman of Al-Manar Islamic College, Malaysia.

 

 

 

A total of 19 Muslim students studying in Bachelor and Master degrees in various disciplines were given the scholarship sponsored by the Al-Manar Islamic College, Malaysia.  The scholarship covers tuition fees and daily expenses for the students during their academic year 2007-2008.  Al-Manar hopes that the assistance will provide intellectual human capital amongst the Muslim community in Cambodia.
