CLOSURE OF THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA, SHANGHAI
Kindly note that the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai will be closed from 1st.May till 2nd. May 2007 in observance of the Labour Day. The Consulate General will resume operations on 3rd.May 2007.

NOTICE - CLOSURE OF THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA
KINDLY NOTE THAT THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA IN SHANGHAI WILL BE CLOSED ON 26 APRIL 2007 IN OBSERVANCE OF THE INSTALLATION OF THE XIII YANG DI PERTUAN AGONG. THE CONSULATE GENERAL WILL RESUME OPERATIONS ON 27 APRIL 2007.

REGISTRATION RULE FOR MALAYSIANS VISITING CHINA
Malaysians visiting or working in China must register for temporary residence within 24 hours upon arrival or they will be fined. If, during the visit they are staying with relatives or friends, they have to report by producing their passport, visa and fill in the temporary residence registration form at the nearest police station. For those staying in hotels, they can register at the counter when they check-in. The registration for temporary residence is necessary for all foreigners because the Exit-Entry Bureau will be able to locate and identify them in the event of an emergency. Failure to do so can result in a warning or fine of between 50 yuan and 500 yuan (minimum) or yuan 5,000 (maximum).
