GOVERNMENT AWARDS CONTRACT FOR COMPLETION OF LODONI ROAD

through the Ministry of Public Works Tender Board Resolution has awarded two
pending contracts for completion of the Kings/Lodoni road by December 2011 to
Naim Cendera Sdn Bhd of Malaysia and Fairdeal Earth Moving Contractors Limited.
Minister for Transport Colonel Natuva said the SCIL contract
for supply of sub-base material and base course material of basic contract sum
of $14,930,00 (FJD) will be executed simultaneously with the above two
contracts, for the duration of two years to December 2011, completion target
that will enable the two contractors to commence, execute and complete target
to enable the two contractors to commence, execute and complete the scope of
works per respective contract award for construction of Waito to Wailotua
section and 29km road tar sealing tender awarded.

destination for students in Fiji,” says Minister for Education Filipe Bole

Malaysian Higher Education Mr Bole said Fiji appreciated the assistance of the
Malaysian Government for the development of higher education in Fiji.
He said a handful of Fiji students were already
studying in Malaysian universities in diverse fields and many more were likely
to follow each year.
Minister for Education to open Malaysian Expo

The Minister for Education, Hon.
Filipe Bole will open the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education Expo (MOHEX)
next week.
The Expo will be for two days from 10 to 11 June.
Personnel from Malaysia universities will display, discuss and answer any
queries on courses available, unit combinations and fee schedules.
Other important information includes prerequisites, scholarships,
accommodation, subjects and subject combinations and any queries any overseas
student would have that hope to study there.
LOCAL COMPANIES URGED TO CONSIDER FIJI'S STRATEGIC LOCATION

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysian firms should take advantage of Fiji's strategic location by making it the base to gain market access in the Pacific Islands, according to the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA).
The existing relationship between the two countries could also help Malaysian firms to reach a wider market, said MIDA deputy director-general 1, Datuk Afifuddin Abdul Kadir.
