On 18 September 2008, the President and Directors of MFTC joined MAROC (Malaysian Residents Overseas Club in Taipei) for a break of fast (Iftar)/dinner at a halal Thai Food Restaurant.

MAROC was  revived in 2007, under the leadership of Mr. Lock Swee Peng. The break of fast (Iftar)/dinner was held in conjunction with approval of establishment granted to MAROC in June 2008.

MAROC held its 1^st meeting on prior to event. More than 15 MAROC Committee members attended the meeting.

It was a ‘touching moment’ for most of the MAROC members as some of them are meeting Malaysian friends in Taiwan for the first time after many years.  Name cards were exchanged and conversations were non-exhaustive together with jokes and laughter.

President of MFTC mentioned in his speech that one of his happiest moment in Taiwan to bring together Malaysian who have long resided in Taiwan.  He hopes that MAROC could organise more activities to attract participation of Malaysians in Taiwan. He also took the opportunity to inform MAROC members that MFTC will be organising activities which would involve  MAROC members, Malaysia students in Taiwan and MFTC's HBS and LRS. Among activities in the pipeline are Hari Raya Open House at Rumah Malaysia in October 2008, Malaysian Food Promotion and a grand Family Day in December 2008.
