Award Ceremony for a Malaysian Writer, Mr. Dennis de Witt,
The Hague

On 23 April 2009, the Central Bureau for Genealogy had
organised an Award Ceremony in The
Hague for a Malaysian writer, Mr. Dennis De Witt from
Melaka. Mr. De Witt won the Dutch Incentive Prize for Genealogy for his beautiful
book entitled 'History of the Dutch in Malaysia'.

Malaysian Celebrity Chef, Chef Ismail & TV Crew Filming for
"RENTAS BENUA" Programme at the Official Residence of Ambassador.

Chef Ismail is a no stranger to Malaysian community. This time around Chef Ismail was at the
Official Residence of the Ambassador of Malaysia on 25 April 2009, with the mission to
promote Malaysian cuisine in Europe. He was with the TV crew filming their cooking
demonstration of Malaysian food as well as their journey in the Netherlands and
the programme will be aired in his upcoming TV show called "RENTAS BENUA" on Malaysian TV
channel in the near future.

International Music Festival, The Hague, 4 April 2009

The International Music Festival was held on
Saturday, 4 April 2009 in The
Hague City Hall.
During this festival, all kinds of music styles from jazz to bossa nova,
classical to traditional, tango to fado from around the globe, were performed by talented artists and dancers. Malaysian Dance Troupe had participated and they performed several Malaysian
traditional dances in the said event.

PERWAKILAN Friendly Bowling Games 2009

On 20 March 2009, Perwakilan (Ladies) The Hague had organized a Friendly Bowling Games which was held at the Scheveningen Bowling Park. The team consists of staff and spouse from the Embassy and Malaysian who resides in the Netherlands. The objective of the games is to build up the connection among the Malaysian and the Embassy. The games were held in a smooth, friendly manner and we hope that the similar activity can be organized in the future.

Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di The Hague telah mengadakan Majlis Sambutan
Maulidur Rasul pada hari Sabtu, 14 Mac 2009 di bangunan Kedutaan.
Majlis bermula pada jam 4.00 petang dan disusuli dengan acara
keagamaan, dan berakhir selepas solat fardhu Maghrib. Kira-kira 100
orang rakyat Malaysia yang beragama Islam di Netherlands telah hadir ke
Majlis ini.

Opening of the Kinderdijk World Heritage site 2009 Tourist Season
2009-03-20
On 17 March 2009, the Mayor of
Nieuw-Lekkerland officially launched the new tourist season 2009 at Kinderdijk
World Heritage site, where 19 windmills are located. The windmills were built as
early as the 14th century to protect the area from floods and they symbolise
the historical Dutch battle with water. Representatives from various embassies
attended the event, where flags from their respective countries were hoisted on
the windmill.
