Launching of Art Exhibition on Malaysia in The Hague

On 12 December 2009, an art exhibition entitled ‘Brushwork Odyssey in Malaysia: A Dutch Retelling’ was launched at Pulchri Studio in The Hague, the Netherlands. H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Dr Fauziah Mohamad Taib officiated the launching ceremony. A book of similar title on the art works, published by the Embassy of Malaysia, was also launched during the ceremony.  

The art exhibition and book were part of the outreach project by the Embassy to increase awareness and foster greater understanding between Malaysia and the Netherlands at the people-to-people relations. The art works produced were based on the experience and observations of eight Dutch artists during their visit to Malaysia in January this year. 

The art exhibition was held for four weeks at Pulchri Studio, from 12 December 2009 to 10 January 2010.

C. de Jager, the State Secretary for Finance of The Netherlands, signing the Protocol amending the Agreement between The Government of Malaysia and The Government of The Kingdom of The Netherlands for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income (the Protocol amending DTA Malaysia-Netherlands) on 4 December 2009 in The Hague, Netherlands.

Event: Exhibition entitled: “Brushwork Odyssey in Malaysia: A Dutch Retelling"

From 12 December 2009 to 10 January 2010, Pulchri Studio in The Hague held an exhibition entitled: “Brushwork Odyssey in Malaysia: A Dutch Retelling” organised by the Embassy of Malaysia in The Hague. The exhibition displayed paintings by eight Dutch artists based on their experience visiting Malaysia in January last year as part of Wisma Putra’s public diplomacy and outreach programme. A coffee table book consisting of the Dutch artists’ works were launched at the opening of the exhibition on 12 December 2009.

MANL Gala Dinner, 14 November 2009, Rotterdam

Malaysia Gala Nite 2009 was held on 14 November 2009 aboard a ship in Rotterdam, organised by the Malaysia-Netherlands Association. It was attended by 250 people from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Denmark. The guests were entertained by the Malaysian singer Nadia Haswani Hasnan while the sumptuous Malaysian meals were prepared by the Malaysian celebrity chef, Chef Ismail.

National Day Reception, Rumah Malaysia

On the occasion of the 52nd National Day Celebration, the Ambassador of Malaysia, H.E. Dr Fauziah Mohd Taib had successfully organised a National Day Reception on 24 September 2009 at the Official Residence (Rumah Malaysia) in The Hague.  Foreign diplomats, Dutch Ministries officials, business contacts were among the guests during the reception.
