Malaysia's Independence Day Celebrated in Tokyo
2008-09-08

 

Malaysian Ambassador to Japan, Dato’ Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahman and his wife, Datin Jazlila Jalaludin hosted a reception at a hotel in Tokyo on 2 September 2007 to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Independence of Malaysia. More than 400 guests including local dignitaries, members of the Diet, senior government officials, representatives of the academia and think tanks, members of the Diplomatic Corps, prominent members of local business community as well as Malaysians working and studying in Japan attended the reception. No celebration is complete without Malaysian delicacies such as satay, beef rendang, chicken red curry, fried noodle and otak-otak.

Malawakil Tokyo - Embassy of Malaysia Visited by Tomioka UNESCO Association
2008-08-28

A group of 40 members of Tomioka[1] UNESCO Association including 23 students Junior and High School students visited the Embassy of Malaysia on 22 August 2008. Earlier in the year, a group of Tomioka citizens visited Malaysia for a study tour and was impressed with the beauty of the places they visited and the hospitality of Malaysians whom they met. The visit to the Embassy was intended to express their appreciation, to learn more about Malaysia and enable others to know about our country.

MITI MINISTER LED TRADE AND INVESTMENT MISSION TO JAPAN

The Honourable Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia led a Trade and Investment Mission to Japan from 6 to 11 July 2008. He was accompanied by 37 officers from various Government authorities such as Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI); Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA); Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE); State Governments of Melaka, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Sabah and Selangor; and other Government agencies. 26 members representing Malaysia’s private sector also formed part of the delegation.

Minister of Tourism’s Working Visit to Japan

The Honourable Dato’ Sri Azalina Dato’ Othman Said, Minister of Tourism of Malaysia was on a one-day working visit to Tokyo on 19 June 2008. She was accompanied by the Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Dato’ Mirza Mohammad Taiyab and senior officials from Tourism Malaysia as well as representatives from advertising agency. The working visit was aimed at strengthening the cooperation between Malaysia and Japan’s tourism and travel trade partners.

Malaysian Ambassador Celebrated SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Birthday with Malaysians in Fukui, Japan

On the occasion of the birthday of SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Embassy of Malaysia with the cooperation of Malaysian students organized a reception on Sunday, 22 June 2008 in Fukui, a city which faces the Sea of Japan. This was the first time a celebration such as this was held outside of the capital, Tokyo, in line with the Malaysian Government’s desire to reach out to Malaysians living abroad and to give the opportunity to those outside of Tokyo to celebrate the occasion.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia has been notified that there are a number of international criminal syndicates who are targeting Malaysians to be involved in their criminal activities.
