The delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (Gaimusho) was led by H.E. Kenichiro Sasae, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Advisory on Swine Flu Outbreak
In the wake of the swine flu outbreak, Malaysians living in Japan are advised to take the following precautionary measures:

(i)To avoid contact with known or suspected swine flu virus carriers and plan properly when traveling overseas especially to affected countries/areas.

(ii)To report cases or suspected cases to the local authorities in the effort to monitor the situation.

(iii)To take the initiative in creating self awareness on the swine flu outbreak and to be up-to-date on the latest situation.

(iv)To heed the advisories as issued by the local authorities at their respective locations.*

Travel Advisory
Malaysian citizens who plan to travel abroad should take extra precautionary measures. Most importantly, they must be alert and fully aware of all the items in their baggage. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia has been notified that there are a number of international criminal syndicates who are targeting Malaysians to be involved in their criminal activities. Those wishing to take up job offers overseas should first verify the status and the offer of the employer.
