The National Day reception was held on September 6, 2007 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia’s independence. About 500 guests from various bodies including the US Government, Congress, Diplomatic Corp, former US Ambassadors to Malaysia, international organizations, business community, academic institutions, NGOs, think-tanks, media and Malaysian professionals, attended the National Day reception.
For the reception, Mission served various types of Malaysia cuisines and also prepared ‘bunga telur’ as gifts to all the guests. Tourism Malaysia’s VMY 2007 promotional video “One Golden Celebration” was played to the guests throughout the reception.
