RETIREMENT
OF HER EXCELLENCY DATUK DR.
RAJMAH HUSSAIN
After 32 years of distinguished service, Ambassador
Datuk Dr. Rajmah’s tour of duty as Ambassador of Malaysia to the United States ended
on 20 June 2008.
Mr. Ilango Karuppannan, DCM, hosted a farewell dinner
on 15 June 2008. The dinner was attended by senior officials from the White
House, Department of State, the Pentagon and the US Chamber of Commerce and
other key officials from Malaysia
and the US.
On 19 June 2008, Ambassador Datuk Dr. Rajmah hosted a
Farewell Reception for the OIC Group in Washington.
Ambassador Sada Cumber, the US Special Envoy to the OIC and former Under
Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, Ambassador Karen Hughes who
came all the way from Austin,

On
20 June 2008, the Embassy of Malaysia Club and PERWAKILAN hosted a joint
farewell luncheon at the Embassy’s Tun Ismail Hall for Ambassador Datuk Dr.
Rajmah.
In
his remarks, Mr. Ilango Karuppannan thanked Ambassador for all her guidance and
on behalf of all staff wished her all the best in her future. Ambassador Datuk
Dr. Rajmah reciprocated by thanking all the staff for their cooperation and
good work.
