1.1 REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE - ISLAMIC

PROCEDURE

 

1. Registration of international Islamic marriage is to be done directly with

     State/District Islamic Department of Malaysia.

2. For detail queries regarding the procedure/requirement of registration

     please contact the respective Islamic Department.

3. The consulate office’s role is limited to verifying the marriage certificate

     and issuance of an official letter subject to the following:

              - Marriage is done by an authorised marriage celebrant

                 https://marriage.ag.gov.au/allcelebrants/both

              - Application form, signed in front of a consular officer

                 http://www.kln.gov.my/web/aus_melbourne/documents

              - The document as per the checklist in the application form

              - Processing fee: Aud5.00 cash only

              - Processing time: Three (3) working days

 

1.2 REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE - CIVIL

CHECKLIST

 

1. Application form JPN.KC06, duly filled on:

     - One (1) printed-out www.malaysia.org.au/forms/Marriage.pdf

     - One (1) original at the consulate office

2. Original & two (2) photocopies:

     - Australian marriage cert. by Births, Deaths & Marriages Registration Office

     - MyKad (all sides)

     - Foreign national ID card, if applicable (all sides)

     - Passport

     - Birth certificate

     - Visa/Vevo

3. Applicants’ passport-sized photo, white background - Two (2) nos.

4. Application fee: Aud10.00 cash only

5. Penalty applies if marriage is not registered within six (6) months

6. Both husband and wife must be present during:

     - Registration &

     - Collection of the certificate

7. Processing time: Three (3) working days

 

2.1 BIRTH REGISTRATION / APPLICATION FOR CITIZENSHIP

* THE FATHER IS A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN

* THE CHILD IS BELOW ONE (1) YEAR OLD

CHECKLIST

 

1. Application form Borang D, duly filled on:

     - One (1) printed-out www.malaysia.org.au/forms/birthreg.pdf

     - One (1) original at the consulate office

2. Original & two (2) photocopies:

     - Child’s birth certificate

     - Child’s passport (if any)

     - Parents’ Malaysian marriage certificate

     - Parents’ MyKad (all sides)

     - Parents’ foreign national ID card, if applicable (all sides)

     - Parents’ passport

     - Parents’ birth certificate

     - Parents’ visa/vevo

3. Child’s passport-sized photo, white background - Two (2) nos.

4. Application fee: Aud25.00 cash only

5. One (1) of the parent and the child must be present during registration

6. Processing time: Three (3) working days

 

In the event the child could not be present, please get the following items

witnessed and certified by local authorities:

a. Child’s thumb print on two (2) application forms

b. Child’s passport-sized photo, white background - Two (2) nos.

 

2.2 BIRTH REGISTRATION / APPLICATION FOR CITIZENSHIP

* THE FATHER IS A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN

* THE CHILD IS OVER ONE (1) YEAR OLD

CHECKLIST

 

1. Application form Borang D, duly filled on:

     - One (1) printed-out www.malaysia.org.au/forms/birthreg.pdf

     - One (1) original at the consulate office

2. Attachment A.15(2), duly filled on two (2) double-sided copies

     - www.malaysia.org.au/forms/Lampiran%20A.pdf

3. Attachment A-WN, duly filled on two (2) printed-out copies

     - www.malaysia.org.au/forms/Lampiran%20A-WN.pdf

4. Original & two (2) photocopies:

     - Child’s birth certificate

     - Child’s passport (if any)

     - Parents’ Malaysian marriage certificate

     - Parents’ MyKad (all sides)

     - Parents’ foreign national ID card, if applicable (all sides)

     - Parents’ passport

     - Parents’ birth certificate
