EARTHQUAKE IN ZAMBALES, PHILIPPINES

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to confirm that an earthquake with a 6.1 Richter magnitude scale was reported in the province of Zambales in Luzon Island, the Philippines on 22 April 2019. Due to the proximity of Zambales, a strong earthquake was also experienced around Metro Manila. Areas including Bulacan, Batangas, Bataan, Pampanga, Baquio City, Cabanatuan City, Palayan City, Gapan City, Santo Domingo and Talavera, Nueva Ecija Baler, Aurora were also affected.

 

So far, there has been no report of any Malaysians affected by the earthquake.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to advise Malaysians in the Philippines, visiting or living in the affected areas to be cautious and follow instructions from local authorities.
