OFFICIAL VISIT OF DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA,
DATO’ SERI DR WAN AZIZAH WAN ISMAIL TO THE UNITED KINGDOM
5-7 DECEMBER 2018
Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will be undertaking an Official Visit to the United Kingdom (UK) from 5 to 7 December 2018. This visit will be her maiden visit to the UK since her appointment as the Deputy Prime Minister.
Deputy Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dato' Haji Marzuki Yahya; Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, and Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
During the official visit, the Deputy Prime Minister among others, will be delivering keynote speech at the Fourth World Muslim Leadership Forum (WMLF) in London with the title "The Role of Women and Girls in Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030".
The Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to meet Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the UN and Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion or Belief, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon. The Deputy Prime Minister is also scheduled to participate in a roundtable discussion session which will be organized by the Asia House.
The Deputy Prime Minister is also expected to visit the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies (OCIS) and participate in a discussion with scholars. Besides that, the Deputy Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet Malaysian diasporas including students in London.
The visit is expected to further strengthen the bond of friendship and reflect our keenness to work with the UK to increase cooperation in new areas between the two countries.
