OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH AFFAIRS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM (UK), JEREMY HUNT

 TO MALAYSIA, 3-4 JANUARY 2019

 

The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom (UK), Jeremy Hunt will undertake an Official Visit to Malaysia from 3-4 January 2019. This visit will be his maiden visit to Malaysia upon taking post on 9 July 2018.

 

He will be accompanied by his spouse and officials from the UK Foreign and the Commonwealth Office (FCO).

 

During the official visit Jeremy Hunt is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah in Wisma Putra, Putrajaya. Both ministers are expected to discuss various issues of mutual interest including ASEAN, BREXIT and regional issues.

 

He is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in Putrajaya and to exchange views on regional and global issues of common concern. He will also meet the Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo to discuss on initiatives to strengthen and deepen the bilateral cooperation in the communication sector. 

 

The visit is expected to further strengthen the bond of friendship and reflect our long standing relations with the UK as well as to increase cooperation in new areas between the two countries.
