Bilateral Diplomacy
Bilateral Diplomacy

The African continent is rich in resources and provides a range of opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation. Part and parcel of Malaysia’s commitment to South-South Cooperation has been to assist in the development of human resources in the African countries. African countries can be a source of political support for Malaysia in the international fora. It is of strategic importance that Malaysia forges well developed relations and links with African nations.

Malaysia needs to position itself well to gain advantage from the developing markets in Africa. Missions located in Africa should be maintained to help identify potentials and opportunities that could promote better political and economic cooperation with countries in that continent. With 54 nations in the African continent, Malaysia would be at an advantage should it expand its bilateral political and economic relations with most if not all countries on that continent.
