The Vice-Speaker of Croatian Parliament and the Head of Parliamentary Committee for Constitution, Standing Orders and Political System Josip Leko received a courtesy call from Malaysian Ambassador H.E. Dato’ Yean Yoke Heng.
It was highlighted during the talks that Croatia and Malaysia have very good political relations, without outstanding issues, and that the multilateral cooperation, especially within the framework of the United Nations is also good.
The two collocutors agreed that economic cooperation should be improved as there is a possibility for its expansion. In this regard, Vice-Speaker Leko suggested the exchange of visits by relevant state bodies and chambers of commerce. Malaysia is primarily interested in energy sector and infrastructure as well as in the use of Croatian ports for the transport of its goods to other European countries.
Apart from that, Malaysia is interested in the cooperation in the sectors of tourism, culture, science and education.
Present at the meeting were also Mrs. Aleksandra Biskupec Sevic, Head of the Office of the Deputy Speaker of Croatian Parliament, Mr. Stjepan Vukas, Advisor to the President of Croatian Parliament for Foreign Policy, Mrs. Dunja Hergula, Advisor to the President of Croatian Parliament for Media and Mrs. Marina Octenjak, Advisor to the President of Croatian Parliament and Interpreter.
