OUR ROLES AND FUNCTIONS

 

The mission has characteristics of both a bilateral and multilateral mission.  In its bilateral capacity, it acts as the official representative of the Malaysian government in enhancing bilateral co-operation and establishing close rapport with the governments of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.


As the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations Nairobi, it is one of the four posts (along with missions in New York, Geneva and Vienna) which represent Malaysia's interest in the United Nations system. The mission deals with the following Agencies:

     

·        United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

·        United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT)
