MALAYSIAN EID UL-FITR LUNCHEON, 21 JUNE 2018

His Excellency Hishamuddin Ibrahim, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to the Republic of Namibia, and Mdm Ida Alina Salleh, spouse to the High Commissioner co-hosted the Malaysian Eid ul-Fitr Luncheon for Malaysians residing in Namibia, Friends of Malaysia, and the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) Alumni on 21 June 2018 at the Official Residence of the High Commissioner in Luxury Hill.

In a multi-religious and multi-cultural country such as Malaysia, Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated widely not only by its majority Muslim community but also by all levels of society in Malaysia, regardless of their religion, cultural background and ethnicity. The High Commissioner is of the view that tolerance is the key to unity and when the people have learnt to embrace and accept differences in society, they are able to focus on similarities and work together towards a better future.

Due to this reason, more than a hundred guests, from different social backgrounds and nationalities attended the event and enjoyed Malaysian home-made traditional cuisines such as rendang and Malaysian ‘teh tarik’. The High Commission of Malaysia in Windhoek would like to wish Eid Mubarak to all Malaysians residing in the Republic of Namibia, the Republic of Angola, the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
