OFFICIAL VISITS BY THE PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA YAB DATO’ SRI ISMAIL SABRI YAAKOB TO THE STATE OF QATAR AND THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES 27 – 31 MARCH 2022
The Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will undertake his first official visits to the State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates from 27 to 31 March 2022.
During the visit to Qatar, YAB Prime Minister will have an audience with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar. Strengthening of Malaysia-Qatar long-standing and multifaceted cooperation will be high on agenda. The leaders will chart a way forward in economic collaboration, as well as other post-pandemic recovery efforts.
The leaders will also exchange views on international issues of mutual concern. YAB Prime Minister will have engagement sessions with business community and Keluarga Malaysia in Doha.
In the United Arab Emirates, YAB Prime Minister will hold a meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The leaders will take stock of the expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including in addressing COVID-19 pandemic and promoting further post-pandemic recovery efforts. The leaders will exchange views on international issues of mutual concern.
YAB Prime Minister will also have programmes at Expo 2020 Dubai, including a visit to the Malaysia Pavilion. While in Dubai, YAB Prime Minister will have separate sessions with business community and Keluarga Malaysia.
YAB Prime Minister will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs YB Dato’ Sri Saifuddin Abdullah, Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Minister of Rural Development YB Dato' Seri Mahdzir bin Khalid, Deputy Minister of Works YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup and Chairman of Felda YB Dato’ Seri Idris bin Jusoh.
The visits will be subjected to strict COVID-19 preventative Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) put in place in Malaysia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
