ASEAN  BAZAAR, MEXICO CITY, 22 NOVEMBER 2014

 

The ASEAN Embassies in Mexico City organised the annual ASEAN Bazaar at Galarias Plaza, Mexico City on 22 November 2014.  The opening ceremony was attended by Diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico.  The ASEAN Embassies were represented by H.E. Dato´ Jamaiyah M. Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia, H.E. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Don Catalino Jr. Dilem Reinante, Ambassador of Philippines, H.E. Linh Lan Le, Ambassador Designate of Vietnam, and Mr. Mohamad Syarif Alatas, Charge d´affaires of the Indonesia.

 

The ASEAN Bazaar is one of the major events organized by the newly-established ASEAN Committee in Mexico City to promote better understanding of ASEAN to the Mexican public through cultural performances and sales of traditional foods, arts and crafts.  The students of the University of Ixtlahuaca performed three Malaysian traditional dances, children of the Embassy`s Staff showed the Malaysian Traditional Costumes while the home-based staff prepared food and craft for sale.
