INAUGURATION OF THE FIFTH INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MOBILITY PARTNERSHIP ON CULTURAL DIVERSITY ‘WEAVING KNOWLEDGE

The Intercultural University of Mexico State (UIEM) for the fifth consecutive time is hosting the International Student Mobility Partnership on Cultural Diversity Programme in San Felipe del Progreso, Mexico State, from 26 July to 19 August 2016.

 

For this year, three Malaysian students from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) are participating in this program. They are Mr. Muhammad Syafiq Abdul Rahim, Ms. Nursyazwani Roslan and Ms. Sareeka A/P Balakrishnan; together with three more students from the US.  Ambassador Mohammad Azhar Mazlan was one of the guests of honour at the Presidium of the Inauguration, as well as the UIEM Rector Mrto. Arturo Velez Escamilla.

 

Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Mobility Student Exchange Program between UKM and UIEM in April 2011, aimed at promoting the inter-cultural understanding between Malaysia-Mexico, to date UIEM had received 15 Malaysian students. At the end of the programme, the visiting students would be able to know and experience first-hand the Mexican indigenous communities and their way of life in the State of Mexico namely, Otomies, Mazahuas, Nahuas, Tlahuicas and Matlatzincas.
