 ON THE DEMISE OF KIM JONG-IL,
SUPREME LEADER OF THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF KOREA (NORTH KOREA)
 
Malaysia expresses its condolences to the people and government of North Korea on the demise of their Supreme Leader, H.E. Kim Jong-il on the morning of 17 December 2011.
 
Malaysia hopes that the new North Korean leadership will work towards achieving peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula.
 
Malaysia is continuously monitoring the situation in North Korea through its Embassy in Pyongyang.
 
Malaysia hopes that all parties concerned would work towards ensuring an enduring peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula. Malaysia strongly believes that the stability of the Korean Peninsula is important for regional peace, security and economic development.
