EID ADHA 2018 REPORT

 

The Consulate General of Malaysia in Dubai organized Eid Adha Prayers and gathering to all Malaysians residing in Dubai and Northern Emirates at MATRADE Foyer, Al Safeena Building, Oud Mehta on 21 August 2018. The annual event was attended by more than 150 Malaysians with their family members.

 

The Eid Adha Khutbah was delivered by Ustaz Khairul. Following that, the Consul General of Malaysia in Dubai delivered a short speech urging the Malaysian community to uphold the spirit of “korban” which literally means sacrifice to do the deeds of God.

 

He also took the opportunity to request Malaysians to contribute to ease the burden of those affected by the torrential rains in the state of Kerala.  The calamity has caused more than 350 lives lost and over 1 million people displaced.

 

The Consul General urged fellow Malaysians to be of assistance in the time of need to others. He requested any financial contributions to be channeled directly into the Kerala Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund or clothing and dry food could be donated at the Emirates Red Crescent Office in Dubai. Apart from that, Malaysians could also donate at the Universal Hospital in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain.

 

Overall, the event went on smoothly and the foods were prepared in the spirit of togetherness.
