Visit of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts to the Malaysian Trade Centre on 12 June 2023

On 12 June 2023, Chief Justice Tun Zaki Azmi of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts visited the Malaysian Trade Centre at 10 am. The purpose of the visit was to foster collaboration between the DIFC Courts, the Consulate, and the Malaysian Trade Centre, while also raising awareness about the services offered by the DIFC Courts to investors and residents in Dubai. Accompanying Chief Justice Tun Zaki Azmi were Deputy Chief Justice Ali Al Madhani, Chief Registrar Amna Al Owais, and Registrar Ayesha Bin Kalban from the DIFC Courts delegation.

During the visit, there were informative briefings conducted by both the Consulate and the DIFC Courts. The Consulate's trade and investment offices highlighted the services provided by MATRADE and the role of MIDA in driving Malaysia's investment agenda. The DIFC Courts presented an overview of their legal framework, jurisdiction, and functions related to wills and probate services, as well as Tejouri, the global digital vault.

A total of 30 attendees, including representatives from the Malaysian Business Council and Malaysian businesses in Dubai, participated in the session. The event provided valuable insights into the DIFC Courts' role in resolving business disputes and familiarized the participants with the trade and investment offices of the Consulate. The session concluded at 12:30 pm after a networking lunch.
