APPLICATION FOR NEW INTERNATIONAL MALAYSIAN PASSPORT (PMA)

AND PASSPORT RENEWAL

 

 

  1. Malaysians residing in the UAE can have their passports renewed, either through the Embassy in Abu Dhabi, or Consulate General in Dubai. Application must be done in person at any of the missions.

 

  1. The Government of Malaysia effective on 15 January 2015 has decided the issuance of PMA for 2 years to be repealed. Only PMA for 5 years will be issued from the above-mentioned date.

 

  1. Required documents for;

 

  1. Application for citizens above 13 years old
  • Passport Application form (click IM. 42 – Pin. 1/97)
  • Two (2) passport size photos (latest photos, white background, dark shirt, without glasses, without accessories, hair must not cover the forehead and ears)
  • Original and a copy of Passport 
  • Original and a copy of Malaysia Identity Card (IC)
  • Original and a copy of valid UAE Residency Visa

 

  1. Application for citizens below 12 years old
  • Passport Application form (click IM. 42 – Pin. 1/97)
  • Parents’ consent Form (click IM 42A - Pin. 1/93)
  • Two (2) passport size photos (latest photos, white background, dark shirt, without glasses, without accessories, hair must not cover the forehead and ears)
  • Original and a copy of Child’s Birth Certificate and Borang W or H (if born abroad) 
  • Original and a copy of Child’s Original Passport (not required for new born registration)
  • Original and a copy of Malaysia MyKid (not required for new born registration)
  • Original and a copy of Parents Original Passport 
  • Original and a copy of Parents Malaysia Identity Card (IC) 
  • Original and a copy of Marriage Certificate

 

  1. Application for Emergency Travel Document
  • Passport Application form (click IM. 42 – Pin. 1/97)
  • Two (2) passport size photos (latest photos, white background, dark shirt, without glasses, without accessories, hair must not cover the forehead and ears)
  • Original Passport (only for expired passport case)
  • Police Report (for lost passport case)
  • Copy of Passport 
  • Original and a copy of Malaysia Identity Card (IC)
  • Original and a copy of valid UAE Residency Visa (for UAE Residence)

 

  1. The charges:
  • Passport renewal + attestation = AED240.00
  • Passport renewal + attestation (below 12 years old) = AED135.00
  • Passport application + attestation + Birth Registration (for new born) = AED235.00
  • Disabled person = Exempted / Gratis
  • Emergency Travel Document = AED40.00

 

Note:

Passport application will normally take between 3-4 months from the date of application until handing over the new passport to the applicants. The duration is due to the documents and passports being couriered to the Department of Immigration Headquarters at Putrajaya through the Consulate General’s diplomatic bag schedule which runs every first week of the month.
