On 30 August 2025, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Dubai hosted a Merdeka Night Celebration at My Square Restaurant, DoubleTree by Hilton Business Bay, bringing together members of the Malaysian community and friends of Malaysia to commemorate the nation’s 68th Independence Day.
The evening reflected the unity and patriotic spirit of Malaysians abroad, celebrating Malaysia’s rich heritage and the enduring bonds that unite Malaysians wherever they may be.

The Consul General of Malaysia in Dubai, Mr. Riaz Abdul Razak, visited Kreston Menon Headquarters in Business Bay, Dubai, on 17 August 2026. The Consul General met with Mr. Raju Menon, Chairman and Managing Partner of Kreston Menon; Mr. Sudhir Kumar, Senior Partner and Head of Corporate Communications of Kreston Menon, Director of the Kreston Global Board and Chair of Kreston Middle East; Mr. Ravishanker Vengathattil, Partner – Taxation; Mr. Aravind M., Growth Strategist; and Mr. Sajesh Meppad, Assistant Manager – Client Relations and Business Development. The Consul General was accompanied by Mr. Badrul Hisham Hilal, Trade Commissioner of MATRADE Dubai; Mr. Zaidi Asraf Idris, Deputy Director and Vice Consul Investment of MIDA Dubai; and Mr. Fahmy A. Dahalan, Chairman of the Malaysian Business Council UAE. The meeting focused on opportunities in trade, investment, business connectivity, and institutional and commercial collaboration. Both sides also exchanged views on how Kreston Menon’s presence, expertise and business network in the UAE and the wider region could support greater engagement between Malaysian and UAE entities. The visit reflected the Consulate General’s continued efforts to strengthen cooperation with public and private sector stakeholders in support of Malaysia-UAE economic relations.
