67 NATIONAL DAY & MALAYSIA DAY
On 16 September 2024, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Perth organized and hosted a reception for Malaysia’s 67th National Day and 61st Malaysia Day at the Duxton Hotel in Perth. The event commemorated Malaysia’s journey since its independence in 1957 and the formation of the nation in 1963, while celebrating the strong and lasting relationship between Malaysia and Western Australia.
Minister for Agriculture and Food; Forestry; Small Business, the Honourable Jackie Jarvis, attended as the Guest of Honour, representing the Government of Western Australia. Also present was Member of Parliament for Tangney, Mr. Sam Lim, along with representatives from the Federal and State Government of Western Australia, the diplomatic corps, business leaders, academic institutions, media, and various community associations. Together, they celebrated Malaysia’s rich culture and heritage.
