The Australia Malaysia Business Chamber Western Australia (AMBC WA) supported by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Perth has organised a Malaysia and Western Australia Food and Agriculture Trade and Investment event on 17 November 2021 at the Squire Patton Boggs, Perth.
Among the speakers who spoke during the event were Mrs. Maheran Zahari, Counsellor of Agriculture from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries Malaysia, Ms. Susan Hall, Executive Director from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Western Australia, Mr. Manus Stockdale, CEO from Vegetables Western Australia, Mr. Peter Dobra, Research and Development Manager from Loose Leaf Lettuce Company, Ms. Nuraisyah Nordin, MIDA Director in Sydney and Mrs. Jamilah Ibrahim, MATRADE Trade Commissioner in Melbourne. The event was also attended by officials from the Western Australia State Government, local industry players and Malaysia-Australia business communities.
The Food and Agriculture event is an important stepping-stone for the key industries and investors of both sides to plan forward for future business collaborations and opportunities towards the next phase of the pandemic. It provides the platform for the industry players to expand their network around the agro-food sector which is essential in boosting the economic growth and improving people’s wellbeing. Australia’s rice industry is one of the pioneers in new farming technology and Malaysia seeks to learn new technologies in this industry to improve its productivity and food security as part of the strategies imprinted in Malaysia’s socio economic blueprint - the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021-2025).
Thank you to all the generous sponsors and supporters in materialising the event.
