The Premier’s ANZAC Student Tour 2016
In conjunction with The Premier’s ANZAC Tour 2016 which will bring a group of 10 talented young students to Labuan, Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan from 17 – 27 April 2016, the Consulate – General of Malaysia in Perth had organised a small get-together event in collaboration with the Department of Education, Western Australia.
The event was attended by the students and their parents as well as their teachers where they were given a short briefing on Sabah and later were treated with some Malaysian delicacies such as sate, mee goreng, nasi goreng, keropok, karipap, popiah and kuih bakar. The staffs from the Consulate were donned in costumes distinctive to Borneo in an attempt to give a “feel” of what the group would be experiencing during their trip next month.
This is the fourth time Malaysia was chosen since the programme was conceived in 2005. In the previous editions, the students were also brought to other places where there were remnants of World War II such as Greece, Turkey, France, Belgium and the Western Front.
