Trade and Investment Opportunities in Sarawak and Western Australia Business Matching Webinar
Trade and Investment Business Matching Webinar was held on 28th February 2022 jointly organised by the Sarawak Government, Australia Malaysia Business Chamber Western Australia, Consulate General of Malaysia Perth and Malaysian agencies namely MIDA, MATRADE and MAFI with the support of the Western Australian Government. The effort to materialise this webinar was initiated since 2019 through expression of interest from both parties to promote trade links and explore investment potential for sustainable economic development and diversification.
The event was officiated with the Keynote Addresses by the Honourable Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Deputy Chief Minister of the Sarawak Government and Minister for International Trade and Investment, and the Honourable Roger Cook MLA, Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development.
153 representatives from various organizations, companies as well as senior officials participated in the Keynote Addresses followed by three breakout sessions covering key sectors:
1) Plenary 1: Information Technology and Cyber Security,
2) Plenary 2: Renewable Energy, Hydrogen and Climate Solutions, and
3) Plenary 3: Agriculture, Food and Timber Industries,
Each of the companies had the opportunity to provide a brief overview of their organizations followed by discussion in areas of interest for a possible collaboration in the near future.
