A delegation from Universiti Malaya and Universiti Sains Malaysia called on the Consul-General on 7 February 2018 to brainstorm on the proposal to set up a Kursi Melayu at one of the local universities in Perth. The delegation comprised of Assoc. Prof. Dr Rahimah A Hamid, Dr. Norhayati Ab Rahman, Dr Mohamad Hekarl Uzir and Dr. Nik Haslinda Nik Hussain. It was agreed for the matter to be taken up at higher level including the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia.
