LECTURE BY H.E. AMBASSADOR AT BAKU STATE UNIVERSITY

The Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ERC ICYF-DC) is an institution affiliated to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). It has been implementing the “OIC Model” in Baku since 2011, with a total participation of more than 150 students from the leading universities in Azerbaijan. Many selected students attend the lectures every year, which are held by eminent scholars and esteemed Ambassadors of the OIC member-states in Baku.

 

On 01 April 2017, H.E. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a lecture titled “Analysis of the Foreign Policy of Malaysia.” The lecture took place at Baku State University and was also attended by Dr Elchin Askerov, Director of the Eurasian Regional Centre ICYF-DC and 70 students participating at the above mentioned event.

 

The Ambassador provided a brief background on Malaysia’s foreign policy with particular emphasis on its role in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and also among the OIC countries. The lecture was also filled with a good Questions & Answers session, covering bilateral relationship, regional collaboration, the UN and OIC matters.

 

The lecture lasted for two hours and was held in a lively and interactive manner. It is evident that the students benefited from the briefing judging from the lively Q&A session and atmosphere at that time of the day.
