GUIDELINES FOR VISA APPLICATION EFFECTIVE 1 APRIL 2022

 

Please note that all visa application must be made through online platform (eVISA) (https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my) (for certain categories of visa only) or Authorised Visa Application Agency. In this regard, the High Commission of Malaysia is pleased to announce that a visa application through online platform (eVISA) is now made available for foreign nationals from certain countries, including Bangladesh, for the following visa categories:

  1. Social Visit Pass;
  2. Student Pass;
  3. Expatriate (Employment Pass, Professional Visit Pass (Talent), Resident Pass (Talent), Dependent Pass); and
  4. Medical Treatment Purpose.

As such, all visa application for the above-mentioned categories is required to be submitted through eVISA, subject to the terms and conditions issued by the Government of Malaysia, including the following:

  • All visa application will be considered on the merits, and the High Commission of Malaysia has the right to seek additional information at any stage of processing;
  • The High Commission of Malaysia reserves the right to refuse a visa application without providing any reason;
  • The fact that an application for a visa is received through the High Commission of Malaysia will not guarantee that the visa will be issued; and
  • Submission of a visa application through a third-party website or an agent is at the applicant’s risk.

 

VISA REQUIREMENTS

The requirements for visa application as follows:

Visa without Reference (Social Visit)

Visa with Reference (VDR)

  1. Original Passport;
  2. Photocopy of passport (passport pages that contain personal details and detail of previous passport, if any);
  3. Duly completed visa application form;
  4. Two (2) passport-sized photos;
  5. Return flight ticket;
  6. Recent 6 months bank statement with a letter of solvency;
  7. Hotel Reservation copy; and/or
  8. Additional documents (where applicable):
  • Invitation letter from organizer or sponsor in Malaysia;
  • Photocopy of business registration (for business proprietor);
  • Marriage certificate;
  • Birth Certificate (for minor applicants); and
  • *Other documents that processing officer may require.
  1. Original passport;
  2. Photocopy of passport (passport pages that contain personal details and detail of previous passport, if any);
  3. Duly completed visa application form;
  4. Two (2) passport-sized photos;
  5. Approval letter from the Immigration Department of Malaysia;
  6. Flight ticket; and
  7. Other documents that processing officer may require.

 

 

*Additional documents (mandatory) for visa application as per the Guidelines and Protocol for Travellers Arriving at Malaysia International Borders effective 1 April 2022 are as follows:

  • Copy of MySejahtera registration
  • Copy of Pre-Departure Form in MySejahtera
  • Copy of digital COVID-19 vaccine certificate

What to do to be able to travel to Malaysia?

  • Download the MySejahtera app and create an account
  • Fill-up the digital pre-departure form via the ‘Traveller’ icon on MySejahtera
  • Verify your digital COVID-19 vaccine certificate on https://www.mysafetravel.gov.my (for digital COVID-19 certificates issued overseas)
  • Take a pre-departure COVID-19 RT-PCR test within 48 hours of departure
  • Purchase COVID-19 Travel Insurance (minimum coverage of US$20,000) for short term foreign visitors.
  • Take a supervised RTK-Ag test within 24 hours of arrival
  • 5 days quarantine for partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers

Travellers who obtain a visa, are also required to follow other requirements as stated on https://www.mysafetravel.gov.my prior to departure.
