VISIT BY THE MALAYSIAN AMBASSADOR TO THE HEAD OFFICE OF EUFOR, SARAJEVO
The Malaysian Ambassador to BiH, H.E. Anuar Kasman had paid a brief visit to EUFOR Head Office in Sarajevo on April 9, 2013.
During the visit, the Malaysian Ambassador was received by the Commander of EUFOR Major General Dieter Heidecker and both sides discussed on mutual concerns pertaining the security situation in BiH. Major General also briefed the Ambassador on the role of EUFOR in keeping peace, stability and security in the country.
The EUFOR is directly under supervision of the European Council established in 2004 which is mandated by the UN Security Council. At present EUFOR Head Office is stationed at Butmir Camp near to the Sarajevo International Airport. Currently EUFOR has 600 military personnel from various EU countries.
