FOR THE 13th SESSION OF THE ISLAMIC SUMMIT CONFERENCE

 

14-15 APRIL 2016

 

 

YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, will lead Malaysia’s delegation to the 13th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference (OIC Summit), which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey on 14-15 April 2016. YAB Prime Minister will be accompanied by YABhg Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor as well as YB Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and senior government officials. 

 

The Summit, which is held every three years, will be preceded by two preparatory meetings namely, the Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting and the Senior Officials Meeting which will be held on 12-13 April 2016 and 10-11 April 2016, respectively. It will deliberate and set policy direction on all issues pertaining to the attainment of the Organization’s objectives. With the theme ‘Unity and Solidarity for Justice and Peace’, this Summit underscores the paramount importance of unity and sol?dar?ty of the OIC Member States towards resolving current challenges faced by the Muslim world. The Summit is expected to also outl?ne measures ?n the outcome documents for ?mplementat?on by the OIC Member States, for the betterment of the Member States and the Ummah.

 

As one of the founding members of the OIC, Malaysia’s participation in the Summit demonstrates its strong commitment to cont?nue to play an active role in the Organisation and contr?bute to the progress and well-be?ng of the Ummah.
