The 42nd Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was celebrated on 18 August 2009 at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Brasilia. This annual event was jointly organised by Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The celebration was well attended by 200 guests including members of the diplomatic community, officials from the Brazilian Government and public.
As customary, the six heads of mission received the guests upon arrival in unison at the hallway. The event commenced with the welcoming remarks by the H.E. Bali Moniaga, Ambassador of Indonesia and H.E. Teresita V.G. Barsana, Ambassador of the Philippines, followed by the remarks by the guest of honour H.E. Roberto Jaguaribe, Deputy Secretary General II (Asia Oceania Division II), Ministry of External Relations, Brazil. Each ASEAN country contributed prizes for raffle draw as well as buffet dinner. The Malaysian home-based-staff prepared eggs with tamarind sauce and kuih serimuka.
Ulangtahun Persatuan Negara-Negara Asia Tenggara (ASEAN) yang ke-42 telah diraikan pada 18 Ogos 2009 di Kediaman Rasmi Duta Besar Republik Indonesia di Brasilia. Acara tahunan ini dianjurkan bersama oleh Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Filipina, Thailand dan Vietnam. Seramai 200 orang tetamu telah menghadiri majlis ini termasuk para diplomat, pegawai-pegawai Kerajaan Brazil serta orang awam.
Mengikut amalan biasa, ketua-ketua perwakilan dari enam negara ASEAN telah menerima tetamu jemputan di halaman ruang tamu. Acara telah dimulakan dengan ucapan oleh TYT Bali Moniaga, Duta Indonesia dan PYT Teresita V.G. Barsana, Duta Filipina, dikuti oleh ucapan dari tetamu kehormat TYT Roberto Jaguaribe, Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha II (Bahagian Asia Oceania II), Kementerian Luar Negeri, Brazil. Setiap negara ASEAN telah menyumbangkan hadiah bagi cabutan bertuah dan juadah untuk makan malam. Kakitangan HBS Kedutaan Besar Malaysia telah menyediakan telor masak sos asam jawa dan kuih serimuka.
O 42º Aniversário da Associação das Nações do Sudeste Asiático (ASEAN) foi celebrado em 18 de agosto de 2009 na Residência do Embaixador da República da Indonésia, em Brasília. Este evento anual é organizado em conjunto por Indonésia, Malásia, Myanmar, Filipinas, Tailândia, e Vietnã. A celebração contou com boa presença de 200 convidados, incluindo membros do Corpo Diplomático, autoridades do Governo brasileiro e público em geral.
Como de costume, os seis chefes de Missão receberam os convidados em uníssono na entrada da Residência Oficial. O evento teve início com as boas-vindas dos Excelentíssimos Bali Moniaga, Embaixador da Indonésia e Excelentíssimas Teresita V.G. Barsana, Embaixadora das Filipinas, seguido de discurso do convidado de honra, Excelentíssimo Roberto Jaguaribe, Subsecretário-Geral de Política II do Ministério das Relações Exteriores do Brasil. Cada país membro da ASEAN contribuiu com prêmios para o sorteio e pratos para o jantar buffet. O staff HBS da Malásia preparou ovos ao molho de tamarindo e kuih serimuka.
