“A Taste of Malaysian Breakfast” hosted by the High Commission of Malaysia
On 16 September 2024, CDA a.i. Mr. Mohammad Al Hafiz bin Mohd Nadzir and the High Commission of Malaysia hosted a delightful event entitled “A Taste of Malaysian Breakfast” at Bayview Yards, Ottawa in celebration of the 61st Malaysia Day.
The High Commission was delighted to host nearly 90 guests, including esteemed members of the diplomatic corps, Canadian government officials, media representatives and distinguished think tanks and organisations.
The event commenced with welcoming remarks by Mr. Al Hafiz. Mr. Alan Bowman, Director General of Southeast Asia and Oceania of Global Affairs Canada delivered his speech as the Guest of Honour.
“A Taste of Malaysian Breakfast” offered a unique opportunity to explore Malaysia’s rich breakfast culture, which is currently nominated for inclusion in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Guests enjoyed a selection of iconic dishes namely Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Teh Tarik, and kuih-muih each representing the diverse and vibrant culinary heritage of Malaysia.
