The High Commission of Malaysia in Ottawa is seeking a motivated and detail- oriented individual to join our team as a Clerk. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the diplomatic mission of Malaysia in Canada.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Bookkeeping or equivalent.

 

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting and administrative roles.

 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a plus.

 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of professionalism.

 

  • Skilled in problem-solving, adaptability, multitasking, and collaborative teamwork.

 

  • Self-directed, trustworthy and high personal integrity.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Process overseas allowances and rentals for Home- based Staff (HBS); vouchers for pensioners; and bi- monthly salaries for Locally-recruited Staff (LRS).

 

  • Prepare and type monthly expenditure reports.

 

  • Support the Administration Officer with supplementary allocations, payments, and various financial tasks.

 

  • Perform data entry in the iSPLN system.

 

  • Prepare revenue collection receipts in the iSPLN system.

 

  • Support the organisation of events and meetings.

 

  • Perform   other   duties   as assigned  by       the       High Commissioner and HBS.

Type of Position

Contractual (possible extension based on performance).
