TEMPORARY REDUCED OPERATING HOURS DUE TO CORONAVIRUS

Due to the spread of COVID-19 in Switzerland, the consular services of the Embassy of Malaysia at Jungfraustrasse 1, 3005 Bern, will remain operational with reduced operating hours from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with immediate effect until further notice.

 

For Emergency Cases such as Loss of Passport, please call us immediately at 031-350 4700.

 

Suspension of the Application of Visa

The Government of Malaysia has announced the Restriction of Movement Order on 16 March 2020 to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Malaysia. The Order, which is issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and the Police Act 1967, will enter into force on 18 March until 12 May 2020.

 

Under this measure, all tourists and foreign visitors are prohibited to enter into Malaysia from 18 March until 12 May 2020.

 

In this regard, visa applications to Malaysia will be suspended until 12 May 2020.

 

Applications by Post:

Applications for authentication of signature, as well as, collection of Letter of Good Conduct and Certified True Copy of documents may be made by post. It is important that the necessary documents are submitted in full.

 

Applications at the Consular Counter:

Applications for the following can be made by appointment as physical presence is needed at the Embassy. Please call/email us to schedule for an appointment.

  • new passport application;
  • renewal of passport;
  • legalisation of documents (tenancy agreement / statutory of declaration);
  • registration of marriage;
  • registration of birth; and 
  • renunciation of Malaysian Citizenship
