ISSUANCE OF MALAYSIAN PASSPORT

AT EMBASSY OF MALAYSIA IN BERNE, SWITZERLAND

 

The Embassy of Malaysia in Berne, Switzerland, wishes to inform you that, as required by the Immigration Department of Malaysia, all Malaysian citizens who would like to apply for and renew their Malaysian passport are advised to come in person to the Consular Section at the Embassy of Malaysia, addressed at Jungfraustrasse 1, 3005 Berne, Switzerland, which is open from Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. (except on public holidays). Kindly contact the Consular Section at +41 031 350 4700 for an appointment and assistance.

Please bring or submit the following:

  • Completed and signed application Borang Permohonan Pasport (IM.42) at the Consular Section.
  • Original and photocopies current Malaysian passport.
  • Original and photocopies Malaysian Identification Card.
  • Original and photocopies Malaysian Birth Certificate or Borang H/W
  • Malaysian citizenship certificate or card—only for applicants who were born before 1957 and do not have a Malaysian Birth Certificate.
  • Original and photocopies proof of Status in Switzerland (i.e., Permanent Resident Card or Valid Switzerland Visa).
  • Adding martial name (Malaysian marriage certificate)
  • Three (3) recent, standard passport-size photographs (please ensure photo is not too dark or light) (strictly white background only). See the photograph below.

Passport fees:

  • Children under 13 years and students between 19 and 21 years with a valid visa (sponsored by the Malaysian government only): CHF 30.00.
  • Senior Citizen (age 60 and above): CHF 30.00.
  • Others –CHF 60.00.
  • Persons with disabilities (with an OKU card): GRATIS.

 

For children's passport applications (under 18 years), please include:

  • Original and photocopies father's or mother's Malaysian identity.
  • Original and photocopies parents' Malaysian Marriage Certificate. (first-time application)
  • Original and photocopies child's Malaysian Birth Certificate or Borang H/W.
  • Completed and signed Borang A1/B1. (if any)
  • If parent divorced – Original and photocopies divorced certificate and court letter of child custody (in English/Malay).

 

IMPORTANT:

All passport applications will be forwarded directly to the Immigration Department of Malaysia Office at the High Commission of Malaysia in London for approval and the issuance of a new passport. Processing time will take approximately 4–7 weeks.

The Embassy of Malaysia is not responsible for any delay due to unforeseen circumstances.
