ASEAN Day 2026

On 28th August 2026, the Embassy of Malaysia in Berne joined fellow ASEAN Missions in Switzerland at the ASEAN Day Reception, hosted by the Embassy of Viet Nam, in its capacity as the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Berne (ACB). This year’s celebration was particularly significant as it also marked the 10th Anniversary of the ASEAN–Switzerland Sectoral Dialogue Partnership, commemorating a decade of growing engagement and cooperation between ASEAN and Switzerland since the establishment of the partnership in 2016. The reception brought together senior representatives of the Swiss Government, the diplomatic community and friends of ASEAN to celebrate ASEAN’s spirit of unity and solidarity, while reflecting on the steady progress of ASEAN–Switzerland relations over the past decade.

ACB Meeting hosted by the Embassy of Viet Nam

On 19 August 2026, ASEAN Heads of Mission and representatives gathered for the latest meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Berne (ACB), hosted by the Embassy of Viet Nam as the current rotating Chair. Discussions focused on recent developments under the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship 2026, upcoming ACB programmes and collective engagements in Switzerland, as well as key regional and geopolitical developments. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of ASEAN unity, coordination and collective engagement in advancing ASEAN’s interests and visibility in Switzerland.
