Visited the Swiss Centre for Electronics and Microtechnology

Together with fellow ASEAN Missions in Berne, officials from the Embassy of Malaysia visited the Swiss Centre for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) in Neuchâtel to engage with one of Switzerland’s leading applied research institutions and gain deeper insights into the country’s innovation ecosystem and best practices. The visit offered a valuable perspective on how applied research is translated into practical, market-ready solutions that support industrial development and competitiveness.

The engagement highlighted Switzerland’s cutting-edge advancements in precision engineering, smart agriculture, and digital health, and their potential relevance to Malaysia’s growing digital and innovation ecosystem.

On 19 August 2026, ASEAN Heads of Mission and representatives gathered for the latest meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Berne (ACB), hosted by the Embassy of Viet Nam as the current rotating Chair. Discussions focused on recent developments under the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship 2026, upcoming ACB programmes and collective engagements in Switzerland, as well as key regional and geopolitical developments. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of ASEAN unity, coordination and collective engagement in advancing ASEAN’s interests and visibility in Switzerland.
