VISA REQUIREMENT FOR SWITZERLAND AND LIECHTENSTEIN CITIZEN
The Embassy of Malaysia in Berne, Switzerland, would like to inform you that, as a Switzerland and Liechtenstein passport holder, you are able to enter Malaysia (including Sabah and Sarawak) without a visa for a period of ninety (90) days for leisure or business.
All foreign citizens travelling to Malaysia must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC). Effective from January 1, 2024, completion of this MDAC will be mandatory,
except for those listed below:
- Citizen of Singapore;
- Diplomatic and official passport holders;
- Malaysian Permanent Residents and Long-Term Pass Holders;
- General Certificate of Identity (GCI) Brunei Darussalam holders;
- Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveler Facility Holders;
- Thailand Border Pass holders; and
- Indonesia Cross-Border Travel Document (PLB) holders.
Before arriving in Malaysia, all foreign citizens must complete and submit the MDAC within 3 days of their arrival. The registration link is as follows:
When arriving in Malaysia, all foreign citizens must show MDAC registration and verify their passports at the immigration department counter.
There are also no issues about re-entering or arriving at any valid immigration entry point by land, sea, or air; you will get your 90-day permit (without visa). If you are a genuine tourist and have sufficient funds, it would indicate your intention is only to visit; normally, there are no problems re-entering the country. If you have a return ticket to and from Switzerland, you have the full intention to return, and you will probably not get asked any questions on your arrival at the airport or the immigration entry point.
Apart from that, please ensure that your passport has at least six (6) months’ validity on the date you enter Malaysia. And also confirm a return air ticket back to the country of origin or current residing country, or confirm a ticket to the country of onward destination. Please bear in mind that most airlines will not allow people to travel with a one-way ticket without showing proof of return.
At this time, all travelers are allowed to enter Malaysia regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status.
