The Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in Geneva, together with the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the WTO, hosted a National Day Reception on 19 September 2025 at the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Headquarters to mark Malaysia’s 68th National Day. The event brought together around 250 guests, including members of the diplomatic corps, international organisations, and the Malaysian diaspora in Geneva.
In her remarks, H.E. Dato’ Nadzirah Osman, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva, underscored the values of unity and the Malaysia Madani framework as the foundation of national development, while reaffirming Malaysia’s strong commitment to multilateralism. She also highlighted Malaysia’s priorities as ASEAN Chair in 2025, emphasising inclusivity and sustainability in line with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
The evening featured traditional Malaysian performances such as Tarian Selamat Datang, Joget, and Zapin, alongside a screening of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 promotional video. Guests enjoyed Malaysian delicacies, including satay, curry puffs, and the iconic Teh Tarik—recently inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list—reflecting the rich diversity and cultural heritage of Malaysia.
